Thursday, June 21st, 2007

MVCHi Guys,

from: GuruFaction Cliff Hall has developed a AS3 MVC framework called PureMVC. Unlike Cairngorm the PureMVC frameworks targets any AS3 based application including Flex,Flash, and AIR. I recently convert the Cairngorm CafeTownsend demo to use the PureMVC framework. You can download the source and view the demo app over at http://puremvc.org

I have downloaded PureMVC framework and its great. I suggest serious OO programmers to to have a look on it.

Competition always benefit the end-user

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Straight from Arpit’s Blog,  I agree with the idea of thinking about the usability and creativity despite of caring about any Technology. Although my thoughts always get inclined towards OpenSource options but still if a tech can deliver better than any available than we surely go for it. I repeat that our motto should be to use technology work for us do not work for a technology with blind eyes. It will never be beneficial for the technological world J.

As he said that there “has been a lot of new activity in the UI world: Apollo, Silverlight, JavaFX, WPF and now Ted Patrick’s sneak peeks on the new features of Flex 3, and a lot of people have very strong sentiments about it”. It looks like technology is driving us we aren’t driving it. In this way the end-user and their requirement will be lost or molded according to the technology offered.

Silverlight can be a technology sharing the same space as of Flash but it can not fade the rainbow colors of Flash apps. Today RIA is being driven on Flash platform and silverlight will be just a step of improvement in this era. If  we keep OpenSource fundamental theories in mind we will realize that A competition or improvement always enhances the product. I am expecting lots of new changes in Flash platform for the betterment just because of the competition and no doubt will be always beneficial for the end-user. J

Lets be focused….

What Flex 3(Moxie) Means to Developer??

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Flex 3 Code Named “moxie”. Who also asked to yourself what is the meaning of Moxie?
[Moxie, a carbonated beverage, is considered to be the USA's first mass-produced soft drink. The name entered the American language, when a person was said to be “full of Moxie”, meaning that the person was skillful, or spirited. Moxie became unique in that it was the name of a commercially produced soft drink, also included in dictionaries.
The popularity of Moxie produced popular advertising jingles, such as “Just Make It Moxie for Mine”, and President Calvin Coolidge was known to have favored the drink. Boston Red Sox slugger Ted Williams endorsed Moxie. Author E.B. White, an adopted Mainer and noted Moxie fan, once wrote “Moxie contains gentian root, which is the path to the good life.”] source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moxie (more…)
